Should i pre-order from steam or should I actually go to EB Games and get the hard copy with the map? I'm leaning more toward the store because you get the actual disc and later on I can re-sell it.

Why though? What are the benefits of steam?

*sigh* Skyrim is a steamworks game so regardless which version you buy it has to be activated and tied to your steam account, so no resale (yet).

Oh really so even if you buy it from a store it still gets tied to your steam account?

direct 2 drive has it for cheaper, I bought it there and activated it on steam. its $53.95 from there. saved me $7 after taxes. I already have my game preloaded.

I chose retail because a)I want that cloth map for my cloth map collection, b)It's Steamworks so I'll have it on Steam anyway, and, probably the most influential c)15% employee discount

I preordered it on Steam. It was $90, yet saw it today at a shop for $79. Can't figure out why digital is dearer. Does it cost more because server hard drives have increased in price?
Not too worried, Bethesda is worthy of taking my hard earned money.

Pre-orders at certain retailers do.

Indeed, I just received my copy and it had the map inside. It doesn't seem to be real cloth though, more like the kind of paper used for paintings. It's pretty stiff.

Me too.. but I went with Direct2Drive $54 this time around because I didn't trust Fedex or UPS. I trust Amazon.com on delivering on release date, I just don't trust the delivery service company! :P
