Previous Steam Summer Sales

Hey there, my friend just got into PC gaming and I'm trying to explain to him just how ridiculous the Steam summer sales are, but I have nothing to go off of (aside from experience). Is there some kind of back catalog that someone, somewhere, kept that I can show my friend? Is there any way to view past summer sales?

stoked for this summer sale. I just got my old school account back in February and managed to get a ton of good games before those coupons expired.

I will not buy any games this summer. I bought WAY too many last year that I haven't even installed yet. Not to mention I haven't finished TW2 or Skyrim. Plus Diablo 3 comes out next week.

I know how you feel. I have a huge backlog of games at the moment.

Still working my way through Legend Of Grimrock before I start anything else, though.

Yeah, I'm thinking the same. In the past, I bought a few that look good for the price, but now I'm only going to focus on games that I've truly been waiting for a price drop on. Also, with D3, yeah - not gonna have much time for any games I do buy anyway. :P

I didn't really buy much in the previous steam summer/winter sales because my backlog was way too big, but I cleared it up mostly.

I remember a couple summers ago I bought close to 100 games for about $300. Craziness.

Im still on the backlash of least years sales. I only see myself buying Arkham City DLC this summer.

The sales are crazy, Steam sales alone can justify PC gaming.
