Today, I saw that Torchlight and GTA IV were on sale. I decided that I want to buy Torchlight and GTA for myself and GTA for my cousin as well, so that we could play together. Credit card info is saved in to steam, so I didn't have to change anything.

First purchase, my games, went through without a hitch. Here's where it gets tricky.

I put the game in to my cart, and then I clicked purchase as gift. I chose the steam buddy, typed in the message, and it skipped the payment info page (payment was saved). It took me to the last page, so I checked the agree box and clicked Purchase. Working, working... ERROR!

"Your purchase has not been completed. Your credit card information has been declined by your credit card company. Note that in some cases, your credit card company may put a 'hold' on funds in your account, but you will not be charged. After reviewing the information below, if you believe your card has been declined in error please try your purchase again." Alright, so WTF? This is a 1-day deal and I'm not sure what to do. Any suggestions? Tried it like 7 times so far, no luck =(

Call your credit card company and ask them to let your transaction through. Usually, the phone number would be on the back for the credit card and hopefully they're open on weekends. Assuming you've purchased on Steam before, I'm surprised that they would put a stop on your card.... (unless you haven't been paying your bills). Also, check to see if your credit card info is correct. Has your number or expiry changed since your last Steam purchase?

This has been a common error recently. People are saying all you have to do is delete your credit card info and re-input it. That's what I've been reading on other forums about this problem.

I purchased GTA IV + Torchlight for myself LITERALLY 2 minutes before making the second purchase. First one went through fine, second one didn't. I have been buying Steam games for years, this is the first time I have been declined. About to call the CC company.

OMFG, I tried to re-enter my info and now this.

"There has been an internal error initializing your transaction. Please contact support for assistance."

This is before I even get to the Purchase page, this is still where I'm putting in the CC info! I'm getting ANGRY!

This is another common error recently due to the huge volume Steam has been getting. When I received this error a few days ago I logged out and closed Steam, then logged back in, input my information, and everything went through fine.

Just exited and logged back in, re-entered all the info, still got the same error. I'm pissed because I only bought this game to play with my cousin.

It sometimes takes days for me before it's fixed. Try again in a few hours, or ask someone to buy it for him.

Can I just log his steam account from my computer and buy it through there? We don't care, we're cousins.

Are the purchases the exact same price? Sometimes a credit card rejects the second purchase if they are the exact same price to prevent duplicate charges. Just one possibility.

This happened to me because the servers were very busy. I say just wait a little bit and try again.

Wait until you get an email that says your credit card is declined. After receiving this try again and it should work.

I got 7 such e-mails and then I said screw it, and I asked for his pass, logged in his account from my computer and bought it for him. This is rediculous and I don't want to file a ticket and wait because it was GTA I was buying for him which is currently $7.5. The purchases weren't the same price, the other purchase which was for myself also included Torchlight and was $12.50.
