Production on Doom 4 suspended

Apparently Zenimax and Bethesda have lost confidence in ID's project management. Grain of salt fellas as this was just released.

Perhaps this will get Carmacks head out of his butt... maybe.

If this turns out to be true then I was completely right about what would happen when id got bought out.

I am not going to read what you wrote unless you change the font size and color of your text. Also why would anyone care about Doom 4 after what they did with Rage.

On another note; game was not worth 60$. If they dev Doom4 for PC first and not cost 60$ then problem solved. I know for sure that iD learned a lesson by not dev-ing for PC first with Rage, Carmack even admits it, so we'll definitely see them work harder on Doom4.

id was trying something new, story, and failed miserably, not like Bethesda has ever put good Gameplay into their games, but it looks they're trying with Skyrim... luckily for Skyrim, people don't care if Bethesda makes a game that's pretty... mediocre at it's core, they just mod it and call it a masterpiece anyway.

It ran crap at launch and even after all the fixes it is still running crap well not as super bad as before but still. All the BS id dished out wow....Silicel1

Performance is still a bit on the mediocre side for AMD, but... since when has AMD had a game launch smoothly on OpenGL?

Also, I simply can't pay any attention when someone gives his opinion about a company whose name it can't even spell. Come on!

And lastly, with Rage id proved they can still make incredible shooters. Everything else in Rage - whatever, you're entitled to your opinion. But the shooting aspect is miles above the competition. And funny thing is, sometimes it's closer to the cIassic Dooms than Doom 3.

solution, go back pc exclusive. I dont know why devs dont get they have to cater to their audience.

And I guess I was another one. The game ran perfectly fine for me and I rarely noticed the pop-in just by playing the game normally.

I would, but GS is being a jerk and not letting me post links so I'm just going to say go check the second page on RPS.

I remember when I said that id sold out and so many people try to defend them. They are in the same level as Epic Games and Crytek where they were once the top pc game makers and now try to focus on consoles first. All John Carmack ever said in his interviews of Rage was how the consoles had untapped powers and consoles this and that but hardly ever talked about the pc. Say what you want but pc is just not as great as it was back then I mean it's awesome and I enjoy my games more on it then the current console sbut it's just not as good as it use to be with all these former pc gaming companies selling out.
