I just got Prototype yesterday, installed it and everything seemed fine. The introduction cutscene was also fine too. Then the game started, just in the middle of the fight, and...well...everything is ORANGE! You can't make out anything except some of the civilians and the outline of Alex Mercer!

I upgraded to the latest video and audio drivers this week. My specs:

1GB RAM

X1950 PRO 512MB GDDR3

PIV 3Ghz

So according to the game min requirements I should be able to play the game, at least on lower graphics, but without this graphical error! I put everything on medium, and the resolution at 1024x768. I also tried it at 800x600, but I get the same graphical glitch.

Help is appreciated! Thank you!

PS: I hope this is the correct section (the only PC section I could find other than the hardware section).

It seems you aren't the only one with this problem. Apparently, the best solution that people have been able to come up with so far is to disable AA... but it's kind of hit-or-miss. You can track the development on this issue at the following link: http://forums.activision.com/viewtopic.php?f=47&t=1946

Thank you :) That worked. Although I still can't play it because it's too slow even at 800x600 and at the lowest settings!!

Well your CPU is well below the minimal system requirements.

Just wait for a patch. If your problem is not solved than it is diffenitly a graphics card problem. Some games just don't like ATI.

Aye, but I still manage to run every other game decently, considering the fact that I lower the graphical options, I just browsed the official site and it seems LOADS of people are having the same problems as me, even those who have literally 'uberly good' PCs. There's something wrong.

Actually, a few people managed to come up with a workaround for certain framerate issues by going into their device manager and disabling all of their HIDs (Human Interface Devices) except for their mouse and keyboard-related ones. If you've ever plugged in a joystick or steering wheel, it might be worth trying. I'm not sure if it'll work for your situation, but it worked for me and most of my other issues.

Well, I guess we're both screwed for our separate reasons then. Just keep checking that forum I linked earlier; it's probably the best bet. That, or the support page off of Activision's site.

first off: activision f'd up this release for lot of people. When i chose to start a new game on Prototype (PC), the audio for the videos cut in and out continually. I tried every single 24 bit. and lower audio format and nothing helped. should i play around with the audio in game latency or what?
