Does prototype perform poorly even on low settings on Nvidia 9800GT?
I get 22-29 frames.
My specs are
intel core 2 duo e4400 2.50Ghz
GeForce 9800GT
4GB DDR2@ 800Mhz RAM
DIsplay resolution of 1280X720

I run it at 1280x1024 with high setttings and 4xAA and the framerate is very smooth. Mouse aiming is a bit stuttery at times, though.
Most definetly driver related.use driver sweeper in safe mode after uninstalling from add/remove.Then install drivers.im using latest nvidia beta's and i have good framerates using GTX260.
I get pretty poor fps as well, aparently in some systems it doesnt take advantage of your gpu at all... seems to be some sort of bug. http://forums.vgames.com/viewtopic.php?f=47&t=1938&sid=aebaebef228221c13230e012a5ee8188
ps what are you using to benchmark? I think fraps hurts performance alot in this game for some reason.
Your cpu is a bit underpowered but even with that and the fact you are gaming at 1280x720 i think you should at least get 30fps average on high settings. I have the same card but a q6600 and i run it at 1440x900 all high settings 2xAA at about 35fpsDoes prototype perform poorly even on low settings on Nvidia 9800GT?

it could be what you have pluged in to your usb ports. on my laptop it runs great, but if i plug my usb head phones in the FPS goes way down. Try make sure you have only the mouse and keyboard plugged in and see if it runs better.crozonI have a usb mouse but it is controlled via a USB To PS/2 connector........... I will try to attach a PS/2 only mouse and see that it helps

If you're only gaming while plugged in anyhow set (should be power options somewhere for the laptop) for it to always run the GPU at max.
