Yesterday I purchased my 8800GTS (good buy €199)

I got 2 random purple screen. The card works fine and I doubt its faulty.

Thing is, I don't want to switch my drivers due to Age of Conan performing very bad on anything other then the 169.21.

I know the blue screen wich is a technical error, but purple screen? Has it to do with my gfx card?

I can go back to the store and change it for a new one. But then the problem might not be solved.

Is the purple screen a common issue? Anyone here ever experienced it?

Thanks for any input.

I would apreciate if someone with experience could perhaps help me out here. Might save me some time from having to brign the product back all the way for nothing.

What's the exact card? Does it come factory OCed? Also download nvideo ntune and check your temps, or pc wizard. Also double check it is seated nice and firmly. Do those things then come back to report :).

I found a usefull thread about it here: http://forums.nvidia.com/index.php?showtopic=59513

My cards temprature currently is at 58c. Idle/Internet browsing (played some games 2 hours ago)

My other system with a similiar setup (also 8800GTS) seems to idle at 50c. But that case has much better cooling so that is to be expected right?

My card seem to be fit well as far as I'm concerned. I played World of Warcraft for almost 6 hours yesterday. Not a single problem.

Oh and btw... my third one occured just now while browsing. And still counting ;p

I replaced my others system 8800GTS with my current one. I'm going to see if the problem still persists.

That would be a good idea. If it doesn't looks like you'll just have to RMA to card.
