It's running fine on my old FX5500. So I'd say it's well optimized.

The only two things I can think of that might be the culprit is there might be a visual setting turned on (within the game) that is causing major slowdown or perhaps your drivers are not completely updated.

One thing I've noticed about the demo is that it doesn't auto-detect your system settings, you have to go into settings and customize the game the way you want it to look according to your PC's hardware, so far it's running well on Normal, looks great and there's obviously a crap load to do in the game, not just run and gun.

It ran OK at medium settings on my crappy X1600 so I'd say it's quite well optimized.

2gb RAM 400 MHz

Ati Radeon 850XT

Intel Core 2 Duo E6700

with high settings.... :D

Runs smooth for me all settings on High, forget what AAxAf are set to. The game seems well optimized to me. Specs, Opteron 170 @2.6 Ghz, 7950GT, 2 gigs of ram and XP Pro.

I also dualboot to XP so i went there and installed it in a different directory, it still runs pretty poor.. and thats at 1024 x 768 everything set high except for i think its dynamic lighting? or something.

i have a 22" monitor but i still get that tear effect as if the game is lagging a bit when i do turns and stuff, and i tried turning on V synch.

I played th3 demo once and then quickly uninstalled it. The only good thing about this game is the water, other than that the whole game is utter crap..nothing interesting at all about this game. I'm so happy we have great visionaries like the development team behind Crysis or we'd be stuck with this crap that's called "Quake Wars."

I'm running it smooth on 1024x768 maxed w/o AA. The game, overall is impressive in some ways. Making rank is way too easy and new abilities are given left and right, I find the shooting fair. But it lacks intensity most of the time and some of the vehicles aren't really fun to use.

The game is alright, but it's likely I'm not buying this.

I fear that Crysis is gonna run not very well, if Quake wars if anythng to go by.

the character models look ok, some parts of scenery do too.. but anyone else notice the ground textures look pretty outdated?

perfect_chao

Outdated?

The texture system in Quake Wars is brand new and hasn't been seen in any game before. It's the new thing that Carmack brought to the table for this game. Instead of one texture being tiled everywhere, the maps are one giant texture with NO tiling.

The textures look fantastic to me.

It does look outdated if you lower the settings, it looks blurred out just like in Bioshock. So up the settings and it'll be crisp to look at.

Yeah, for all you Nvidia users. I read on another forum that there is a setting in the nvidia display settings, that has to be on. Here;

"Due to a driver bug in all versions of the NVidia drivers, ET:QW may be taking a big hit in FPS. In order to workaround this, go into your NVidia Control Panel, under 3D Options, and set "Multi Display Performance Mode" to "Single Display Performance Mode."

On an 8800GTX, this brought the FPS from 30 to 60+. I don't personally have an NVidia card, so I'm unsure as to the side-effects, but this will help ET:QW." (sponge) Forumn that I cited.

Hope that helps!

^ I've always had mine to single display so that's probably why people with much better comps than mine are getting horrible performance. Good to know though, thanks.

I was unimpressed by the actual game... looked like a crappy version of 2142, but the demo was pretty smooth. I repeat though, i will not be buying this game (Hooray Crysis).

I'm running the game in 1024x768, everything except ansio and AA is maxed. Get 45-50fps constant.

Specs: Amd Athlon 64 2800+ @1.87ghz, 1gb of ram, and an X1600 PRO... AGP.

It runs pretty well on my fairly generic machine.

3.0Ghz pentium 4, 1 gig RAM, and a geforce 7800GS

I have it maxed out at 1280x1024, except for AA. I gotta say it runs really smooth and looks really good unless I get into some crap server.

Unlike what a lot of people are saying, I like this game a lot. I think its really fun. I like that each class has its own types of missions and everyone plays a part. Anyone notice that the GDF seem to overpower the Strogg though? My one complaint, though, is the voice acting and some of the comedic comments... kinda cheesy.

Not sure what you could do to run it. Good luck though.

Gonna have to agree. i have a 7950 gt superoverclocked v.c. 4600+ dual core and 2 gigs mem. And the video card has a aftermarket fan that oc's it even more with thermal paste.

There is nothing smooth about this game(im used to bf2,fear,rb6 vegas, stalker, oblivion, arma). And all the graphics on the older games run extremly smooth maxed out. maybe because i dont have direct x10.Even the textures seem grainy and over done(way beyond stalker). The gun animation sucks and the sound is basic....maybe will see what happens after a patch comes out.btw..running new drivers on a nvidia card.

If anything I find that Strogg has a slight advantage but that's because I am a "nimble" player...I like to move fast and in all directions.

Just found out the game is capped at 30fps, no wonder it doesnt seem smooth as other games. I tried the commands from here http://community.enemyterritory.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2042but when i do that, i go into the game and fps jumps from 29-31 and basically doesnt budge from there unless i face a place where nothing is going on like up against mountain wall where it goes up to 60 that i unlocked it to with the commands.. which doesnt make ANY sense because i have a very good graphics card

i think something with this game is not right.

No matter how fast you run the game, the character animations, physics, etc. are all capped at "30hz" so that though your game is churning along at 90fps, the animations will STILL LOOK choppy.

on a PC if it's not smooth, it's because you put the graphics too high for your settings

and your not even reading what i wrote man, i tried the lowest graphical settings and its still the same. Try reading what i type instead of skipping what i say.

Who's the noob now?
