1st question)okay, so say your motherboard has a 4 pin CPU power connector, but your PSU has an 8 pin CPU power connector. Will you still be able use your computer?

2nd question) now, lets say your motherboard has an 8 pin CPU power connector, but your PSU has a 4 pin CPU power connector. will you still be able to use your computer?

for question #2 i know you can buy an adapter that converts your 4 pin into an 8 pin. im using that on my system right now.

 

as for question #1, im not sure. but if i had to pick id say it might work.

how many questions you going to ask in one day? i assume you have one of the two pieces in question, just buy something that is compatable, if you dont have either then dont buy two things that might not work

 if you post your psu model# someone might be able to help you.... otherwise you gonna get ... "i think so" all day.. secondly i havent bought a psu yet that didnt have a online resource site to help with these questions.

Yes and yes.

IIRC, 8 pin EPS 12V connectors can fit into a 4 pin ATX socket. You may have to google around for the exact answer, but I think (note: think) that all you have to do is plug in half of the EPS heads (left or right half of the connector).

Secondly, you can buy some adapters that enable you to turn your PSU into an EPS 12V compliant PSU (4 pin to 8 pin).
