I bought an HP computer with Intel Quad 2.4 ghz, 3 GB RAM, 8400 nvidia GS video card. Also came with 22" LCD widescreen. While some games such as the recent Call of Duty 4 demo have played excellent on very high specs, I play games such as Oblivion that have a "lag effect" as if I'm lagging on an MMORPG. I tried different resolutions, medium to high specs, and Oblivion still does the same thing. Anyone have a suggestion what could be causing it? It's a new computer and I'm stumped.

Yeah, i was just checking at New Egg and its only a $50 video card. It was a spontaneous purchase. For some reason I thought I was getting a better video card. Oh well.

Oblivion can be very taxing at higher resolutions. Upgrade to a 8800GT if your budget allows when they are released.
