Radeon 4850 Gigabyte 512MB 2xDVI (PCI-E)
vs.
Radeon 4850 Gigabyte 512MB 2xDVI (PCI-E) Zalman

First one is without "Zalman fan" and the second one has it.
And I heard that the zalman fan is very loud...
What do you think about this ? Is it really so loud ?
And another thing is overheating... is it true ? (the card without zalman fan)

Which card should I get ?
The one with the fan or without?

Could you maybe give a link to both Cards? And about overheating; GPU's dont overheat quickly, defenately not on stock frequency's etc. They're build to resist ALOT of heat. I'd say go for the one without the Zalman fan.

i bought a brand new 4850 for $50 from Craigslist. it doesnt have the after market cooler and overheats and causes my computer to freeze. my previous computer with a 4850 that had an after market cooler ran FLAWLESSLY.

it could be my video card only. thats probably why the **** sold it to me for that price.

I actually have the card with the zalman fan and it's not too loud (i'm coming from an xbox 360). The zalman fan does an excellent job of keeping the card cool, so pick that one up.

i hate zalman lovers with a passion.

my previous 4850 with the after market cooler was from MSI. newegg doesnt sell them anymore but the model was R4850. it was SILENT and i could run the fan speed at 40%. try looking on google products.
