My dell XPS m1710 works great, it runs all my games fine yet the one downside to it is that it only has an 80 gig hard drive, you can get 250 gigs on a 600$ machine nowadays and i wantto upgrade mine so i can have all my games, music and movies on it. i have a couple questions

1.I would give it to pro's (futureshop etc.) to upgrade, so im wonderingcan they copy my current drive onto the new one, so that it will be exactly like it is now, only with more hard drivespace? i mean i would like to get it home and have it act exactly like it does now but with 170 free gigs instead of 20.

2. where it is a dell and it would most likely be upgraded with non dell parts, would my warranty be void in any way?

I think it is very difficult to upgrade laptop parts. I think your best bet is a external hard drive. You can get them in varying sizes to suit your needs.
