I have an account, but I'm away visiting family and I have so much downtime and I want something to do. Can I play without buying the game all over again, 'cause that's obviously a huge waste.

No. Your WoW account is stored on Blizzard servers.

All you would have to do is bring the discs, install the game on whatever computer you want to, and then just put your account information and password in the login screen.

this is what I would do then.

If blizzard still does there "Try out World of Warcraft for 10 days" thing, just go to their website, download the game online, and then just log on with your account.

If there's a Best Buy or Circuit City in your area, you can buy a 10 day trial DVD for $3. This is preferable to use for installing the game if you have the retail version, anyway. It all installs in one sitting without having to switch disks. After you install all the patches, just log into the game with your account and it's exactly the same game. You won't be able to install or play Burning Crusade though, but you seem new to the game so it shouldn't affect you.

Circuit city has the full version of the game now for free (5 dollar discount +15 dollar mail in rebate) if you want to take that route.

lol okay...I'm downloading the free client....but what about BC? Do I need to download that too or what? Or will my BC-upgraded account not work on the regular version?
