Im planning on upgrading my RAM space by buying a 1GB.I opened my computer and it only has 2 slots to put the RAM card in, and both are filled. My question is if i took out one of them and then put the brand new 1GB in its place, would any files or anything get erased? Thank You

Ram is not used for storing data so no, you wont lose anything. Judging from that type of question I'm not sure if you're looking at the right ram to buy. I can't really assume you don't but please make sure you know what type of ram is in your system before you make the purchase.

Best Buy is so incredibly overpriced when it comes to RAM... Also, replacing both sockets would be better as it will operate in dual channel.

go to newegg.com and use their RAM guide to find your ram you need. it would be best to max out on your ram by going with 2GB(2sticks of 1GB)
