Question's about overclocking

I don't know much about overclocking but I think I've read enough that i can attempt it. anyway...

1. On a Intel C2D running at 2.4 GHz, if I overclock it to 2.7-2.8GHz would the stock fans keep it cool and would I need to up the voltuge to keep it stable?

2. If I would need to up the voltuge, how much would you estimate it would need to go up?

3.Finally, on Corsair XMS2 RAM at 800MHZ, what would be a safe overclocking speed for that?

you should be fine overclocking to those speeds I would recommend getting a Arctic cooling freezer 7 pro they are cheap and perform very well when overclocking. the ram and voltage should be fine

Agreed with Adam. The Artic Cooler Freezer 7 Pro is an excellent HSF that should enable you to overclock up to 3Ghz and mabye even further depending on current airflow within your case.

   You should be fine up to 3ghz on the stock cooler providing you mounted it right with good thermal paste. Voltage just depends on your specific hardware, my E6600 runs at 3.4ghz on the stock voltage of 1.325, others have to set it to 1.4+ to even go over 3ghz. Just try going as high as you can without upping the voltages. Your ram could see speeds of around 1000mhz with the right mobo, there really is no "safe" speed, it's just as high as you can get it to go and remain stable without having to pump too much power. RAM should be at 2.1v initially I'd say, go up to 2.3v if necessary.
   Make sure you know how to reset the BIOS or clear CMOS as doing this a few times is almost inevitable when overclocking.
