My friend bought one of these for his ASUS P5N-E SLI motherboard for his new rig. We got the bracket part secured to the mobo for lga 775, but when we try to install the hsf, the stupid bracket can screw down, but then is tilted up so we can't screw it in on the other side. Is it DOA, or can we somehow screw it in?

lol It's not DOA, I had the same problem. Took me about an hour to finish screwing it in. I suggest you use your fingers to hold the bottom against the mobo and use the thumb to press the bracket down. Make sure they fall into the holes and keep a tight grip and you twist the screw.

Why dont think fix this??? I had the same problem as well. I had to barely screw in one screw and barely screw the other just so i could get it to fit. I got so fustrated.

There's a video of how to install the 9700 on the zalman website. They screw one side in a bit, then the other and so on, until its tight.

Mine's holding up quite well though I was a bit new at installing an OS and actually installed it three times before figuring out how to install it correctly. The most tedious thing was the Zalman heatsink and mine looks a little cluttered. And as for the fan I made it spin for about an hour and now it starts up on its own. I'll have pics and specs up in the thread later.
