The game looks promising, mostly because of the decisions you make will resolve later in the game. So it's like a multi-decision game sort of. The games is somehow not dictatet how to be played, I like that. Well thats what I heard

And in the future games that have more than one or two ways to completing an objective or a quest, really should be made. Games where the free will counts, and that you can finnish the game differently as it's written on the paper, although that would be hard to make

The game is very much like that. I am at the end of the game right now and I keep wondering to myself how it would of turned out differently had I made different decisions in the game. You are forced to make decisions in the game often and I love that about the game. I'm not sure how many different branches there are to the game and where they might interconnect but I am so far quite impressed.

I am finding that to be true as well. I already want to play through again to see what happens if I do things differently. I am 1/2 way through act 4 and have found many many instances where my decisions have effected major points in the game. I don't want to ruin anything for anyone though so ill leave it at that.

As far as modding the game, I have not kept up with the official forums to know if the game is modable, or if there are plans for expansions / mods.

I have heard though that witcher 2 is already planned and will be on pc as well as consoles.

Well, seems another solid PC rpg is going to be going downhill...too bad.

There is still some hope (Depending on how much time they spend differentiating the two versions). But hey, just enjoy what comes our way, and at least we have a game made for the PC only (ATM) and it's an rpg.

Well, to be fair, I don't blame the consoles for making dumbed down games. They are simply machines. In the end, its the developers making the game that end up destroying their franchises by trying to simplify the gameplay to reach a wider audience. We can only hope CD Projekt doesn't go that route.

Yeah, I heard that's what happened with Deus Ex 2 and Fallout Tactics.

Well I don't mind console games, it's just that PC games have a different feel.

I like my different DIFFERENT types of rpgs.

And hey, in the USA consoles are where the money is at, so ofcourse the devs should go that route. I don't mind as long they make the game PC first, and then port it later on to accomdate for the console style.

But most devs are going the console route, so you just have to go with the times. I still have lots of catch up on PC Rpgs, so I am enjoying them at the moment.

I hope Dragon Age pulls through next year. And I am also excited about what Spore brings.

I am just happy there will be a sequel. I don't think (or hope) cdprojekt will be toning down the game for consoles, there has been content similar in adult nature in the past on consoles (gta series, saints row).

If anything consoles will bring in more money to the franchise opening the door to even more from cdprojekt.

Does anyone know if the version sold in New Zealand will be the censored one? We don't use the ESRB...

How are you at the END of the game now?! When did you first start playing this game...how many hours do you have into it?

I would like to know too. This is a long game, you have to have been playing for hours a day to be getting to the end already.

It's off topic but it's a link to wikipedia's content about author of The Witcher. As a Pole I'm proud of him. http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=sapkowski And this is a link toa review offirst translated to English book"TheLast Wish".Readingstories from book will give you more understanding of Geralt and mood of the game.

One thing about gear. There is no plenty weapons and armour in the game because the Witchers use primary two swords and no armour. It's all about their training, mutation, magic signs and potions. They are immune to poisons, deasises an are sterile (yes - no children). They have a medalion wich vibrates when someone is using magic. They have a cat eyes and see pretty well in dark. They are monster slaying machines - so no armour and strange weapons. It's a reason why creators of the game didn't implement weapon and armour elements so natural in other RPG.
