There keeps popping up a warning of hardware detected (PCI). I have only my sound card connected to PCI and PCI 16x graphics card. Both are installed and work fine.

I guess its some kind of conflict with windows XP itself.

It ask me wheter I want to install drivers for the detected hardware, with windows update. I say yes... then another window pops up saying: Drivers failled to install.

I click on the ''Never ask me again to install'' option. But nonetheless it keeps popping up everytime I reboot my computer, again and again... and again :|

What can I do?

EDIT:

I renamed the Thread to ''Radeon HD 3850 Conflict with Integrated HD audio controller''.

I'm pretty sure its caused by the graphics card. I just found out it has a integratedHD audio controller on it. No idea what it means.. or how to turn it off. But I think this is the thing that is causing the conflict. At least it does in Windows XP (home).

I'm going to wait and see the responses of other people who have recently bought the same graphics card.

Have you installed the latest chipset drivers?

Have you looked in device manager to see what kind of device it's found?

Chipset drivers don't exist for my Asus P5B... also I have this pc for over a couple of months now so that can't be the problem.

I even turned it everything involved with Windows Update off. It doesn't matter what I do... it keeps popping up over again and again.

I turned it off in the device manager, and even completely removed it from my system.

Then I reboot... it pops up once again. And I see it back in the device manager.

mmh..

I used to have a Pentium 4 with AGP 8x Asus motherboard. I always had to install chipset drivers for everythign to function properly. This isn't the case with my current computer and the P5B... it has always worked perfect without.

I guess I need a chipset driver after all then.

This warning has never occured to me in over 4 months... so I'm surprised why it pops up now all of a sudden.

What exactly do I need to install now? The Intel Chipset software? Isn't that a utility, not a driver?

This problem has occured to me since I bought my ATI Radeon HD 3850 yesterday.

First the drivers caused my sound card to turn off. It automaticly installed a HD Audio controller or something like that without asking me first. The CD installation was included in the Sapphire package.

Maybe try uninstalling and reinstalling your sound and video card drivers, and *remove the drivers for you old video card if there still there.

another screen shot of the control panel would help too.

Only other thing i can think of is it Might have something to do with all the audio devices, the on board audio should be disabled in the bios, and the 3870 has some sort of sound chip on it, that probably has to be disabled somehow too. i dont know for sure but i think you can only have one sound card, if you have more than one you get some kind of error. but im not sure about that i could be wrong.

and ethernet drivers.

I have tried reinstalling video card and audio for second time... no fix there.

And I allready checked for onboard devices, and as far as I know only my sound card is enabled.

My current problem remains... here a screenshot.

All I really want is my windows to ignore this crap. I'm trying to figure out how... I don't have my own pc under control.

Even if I set itto ignore it just keeps popping up anyway.

Wait a second... an audio chip you say? That makes sense I think... since they included a audio/sound drivers in the Sapphire package I bought. Wich caused my sound not to work anymore. I fixed that somehow. And thats how my problem appeared... I think.

The problem was caused when I set up my brand new graphics card. The ATI Radeon HD 3850, manufactured by Sapphire. But I think all models have integrated HD Audio Controller.

I solved the problem by downloading the HDMI audio drivers from amd.com... but now I got a new problem. My sound isn't working anymore. What a complete **** mess...

I bought a graphics card... and a sound card is what I got -_-

They could at least ad the drivers to the CD itself. Very dissapointed... I thought they were professional companie :|

the new ati graphic card has support for hd audio decoding for hdmi that's why you need to install driver for both the sound and graphic with your card. Also if you want your sound back just go to control panel, go to sound nad autdio device and change the output from ati HDMI controller to intergrate sound.
