Hey I'm currently looking to overclock my Core2Duo E4400. I have 2 gigs of corsair DD2- 667 and wondering if they will do ok overclocking or if I need like 800 speed or something.

Other specs:gigabyte P35-S3 motherboard

No your 2gb of RAM are fine. They don't neccesarly play a role in the overclocking at all. Though your CPU only has a 2MB cache so it might not get that far.

I'd recommend unlinking the FSB and RAM when you overclock, since increasing the FSB also causes the RAM speed to increase if you don't unlink them.

You can play with the RAM speeds afterwards if you want to get an FSB:DRAM ratio of 1:1.

You don't need DDR2 800 RAM at all.

As for the above poster saying that the E4400 can't overclock well due to 2MB of L2 Cache, he has no idea what he's talking about lmao. E4400 = possibly the BEST overclocking Core 2 Duo.

Yeah, there should be a setting in the BIOS where you can set the FSB - Memory Clock to "Unlinked"
