I'm considering buying my first gaming pc. I have looked around and find cyberpowerpc.com to offer some pretty good deals. I know its cheaper to built your own but I dont have the experience to do it at this point. Anyway I'm looking at spending about $1000. I want to be able to run all current games at max (or close to it). Part of this budget must include a monitor. I feel like the cpu should be fine for running all current games at max, but I dont know a ton about GPUs or motherboards. Please let me know if anything should be upgraded. Thanks! The CPU you chose is not overclockable, so there's no point getting a water cooler. If you get a "K" CPU then you you can overclock it (unless they decide to charge extra for that, which is not impossible), but I'd still recommend an air cooler like Hyper 212+/Evo. And 7850 would be a better choice than a 6950, whatever "major brand" it might be.

It's not bad, but... -You don't need liquid cooling for your fist gaming pc, air is fine, and cheaper. -That PSU is overkill and... Standard Power Supply? Seems like cheap crap, get a better, and fewer wattage one. (Brands like corsair) -Your CPU is not totally unlocked, i would reccomend a new one, like the 2500K, since it will overclock way better. With those changes, you could prolly get a better GPU.

Thats the lowest watt psu they have available for that model and I'm not really worried about overclocking it I just want to know if its fast enough. Which GPU would you recommend?

Not the point, cheap PSU's can end up ruining your pc. For maxing games, i would reccomend something like a 670 or even an HD 7870 (which is cheaper and very good too)

So the HD 6950 couldnt run games like the Witcher 2, Skyrim, and BF3 on high settings? I'm NOT talking talking about having every ridiculous setting like ubbersampling turned on when I said max.

And do you think that CPU will be fast enough without overclocking, I dont really want to mess around with that. As far as the PSU its the lowest watt option the site has for that model, every other option takes me over my budget.

It will be fine, but I would recommend getting at least a 2500k for gaming.

How about this CPU Intel® Core i5-3570K 3.40 GHz 6MB Intel Smart Cache LGA1155 (All Venom OC Certified) (they only have the 3rd gen now) If I switch to this should I go with liquid cooling or just standard air fan? The rating on the site says I will get 84FPS on ultra in starcraft II, is this about right? What could I expect on some other high end games?

It's a good CPU, basically the same as 2500K, exept it runs a little hotter and supports the latest PCI-E standard (not that you will be bottlenecked with the 2500K). A good air cooler would be a better choice than a water cooler IMO, don't know what they offer, but Noctuas are the best, can't go wrong with them.

Ok two more questions Should I bother getting the Intel® Core i5-3570K 3.40 GHz 6MB if I don't plan on overclocking? Is the Intel® Core i5-3570 3.40 GHz 6MB just as good if I dont OC? Is this a good PSU, 850 Watts - Raidmax RX-850AE 80 Plus Gold Power Supply

There will be no difference at stock clocks, but the price difference is very small compared to the performance boost you get with an overclock, so I'd totally recommend the K model (maybe you'll wanna overclock it a few years from now). As for the PSU, I guess it'd be fine, but then I've never heared of Raidmax, so I'd rather go with a trusted brand as mentioned in one of the above posts.

Is this a good monitor for gaming? I picked this one because of the fast 2ms response time, is this the same as input lag? Let me know what you think http://www.amazon.com/VH238H-23-Inch-Full-HD-Integrated-Speakers/dp/tech-data/B004J6BIJ8/ref=de_a_smtd
