I was just done reading the comments under the Razer Christine article and was surprised with all the hate towards Razer, primarily accompanied by love for Logitech. Is Razer really that much worse? Ever since I got fed up with faulty mice froma random companies ( Logitech included) I turned to the Razer Imperator mouse. I haven't had the slightest need to change. It is simply the best mouse I have ever tried. My Razer Electra headphones also work like a charm, especially when combined with Razer Surround.

So I am asking, is Razer that bad in the eyes of gamers? I mean, yeah, the products are rather pricey, but you clearly get your money's worth.

Razer always try to be innovative but always fails.

Personally I'd pick up Xi3 Piston http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-rTU_en_frU

i don't hate razer, but my experience with their products hasn't been great. i've tried a mouse (wireless bluetooth small one can't remember the name) and it was extremely uncomfortable and it's size and the positioning of the tracking laser combined made for difficult aiming. i also have a black widow tournament edition which isn't bad, but isn't good either and definitely not worth the price.

on the other hand, while not every single logitech product i've owned has been amazing, their gaming gear certainly has. i use a g9x mouse and it's the most ergonomic mouse i've ever used, and i've used quite a few. for the keyboard i use a cheap $25 k360 which is both very tiny and and very ergonomic (maybe because i have small hands) and i've never noticed input lag even though it's wireless. my headset is a logitech g35; very comfortable and great sound.

i like that razer differentiate themselves, and try stuff other people aren't willing to (razer blade, that portable gaming tablet pc thing (edge?)) as well as the new project christine.

sure, i wouldn't buy any of that, but that doesn't warrant any hate. i disagree that you "clearly get your money's worth". their keyboards might be fine, but i've always found their mice terribly uncomfortable.

Personally, their mice and keyboards feel cheap and "plastic" to me.

Lots of people swear by them but to me they always feel low quality.

I've used Logitech all my life with the occasional Microsoft product here and there, really never had issues or when I did, they just replaced the product.

Bought a Razer Lycosa keyboard... biggest mistake I have made when buying any hardware. Terrible keyboard will never buy another razer product again.

I never tried a Razer product, but I always hear about their terrible build quality.

Don't have a lot of experience with Razer peripherals. I've got the Kraken Pro headset, which I've been happy with. Nothing amazing about them, but they're sturdy enough and sound good.

Also got a the 14" Blade. It's obscenely expensive (especially in Aus where we have to pay $700 more (than US), for some fucked reason), but there really wasn't much that met my criteria. I do like it, however I wouldn't recommended it to anyone, unless they were as fussy as myself and were willing to pay that much.

Never used one of their keyboards or mice though, so can't comment on them.

I do however have a G710+ and G700s, which I'm mighty impressed with. I've also got the Z-5500 system, which has been running strong for about eight years now.

Logitech seem to cop a bit of flak because their low-end stuff is a bit ordinary, but I dunno what the hell people expect when they spend $30 on a pair of speakers. Their high-end gear is great.
