RCA/Component or HDMI?

Recently I bought a HD T.V and happily pluged in my HDMI and baithed in the goodness but just today I saw a Video saying that RCA/Component has a better refresh rate or no refresh rate and it is better to play with that.

dose anyone have any insite on this?

Without a doubt hdmi is better. I just went from launch 360 with component to new slim with hdmi, made a world of a difference. This might have been also because my tv couldnt do 1080p with component, but I know hdmi is better all around

Yup, HDMI is digital and carries the most data (including audio optionally). Component is analog, video only up to usually a max of about 1080p and like the previous poster indicated not all TVs support 1080p over component. RCA is analog standard definition (non HD) and stereo audio only.

RCA -can- carry mono or stereo just like the video signal -can- carry black and white. Component -can- carry 480i instead of 1080p.

What does any of this have to do with the TC's question?
