Simple, there's no problem with your systems.
Either your internet card is slow, your service is slow or (like me) your far away from the service central so you get weak performance.

Dude you're trying to mix water with oil... that's not a problem related to his connection and it doesn't affect his hardware at all.
The hardrive is the weak link but it shouldn't result in thoses sort of frame rates,
i'ld check the temperature, ATI cards are known to kick out a load of heat, one of them may have shut down and the other could have "throtelled due to heat
I think it has to do with your GPU, but I dont know how, because my brother got kinda the same problem in AoC, with the same GPU as you in crossfire. Whenever he is in dungeons and such he gets like 100+ fps, and in the cities where there are loads of players it dips to about 10-20fps. I dont know how it can be, but it might be the driver, because both he and other players in game with 3870 has had some minor problems. They are probably gonna fix some of it in an up-coming driver.
Edit: He is using 64-bit ultimate too, it might be that and the driver there is somehow bugging together.
I had a similar problem with my last machine. Turns out it was my CPU overheating. So monitor your CPU and GPU temps and make sure they arent WAY high.maartyr
my cpu is at around 40C and my video cards are around 60 which is perfectly fine. and i did a virus and spyware scan and got nothing.

That means you have a problem with your internet connection.
disable your anti-virus, spyware scanner, etc. everything is running in the background. Make sure they are not running at all. If you really want to game you would do a clean install of windows and not put any of that anti virus crap on your pc.rob1101
i have had this problem since day 1 of install and i just recently put Anti-virus on.
Do you have the TLB bug fix enabled? That would definitely kill your framerates.GuitarFreak2
let me check. you can disable that with amd overdrive correct?

I have no idea. Haven't used an AMD since the K7s
well i just found out that disabling through bios or amd overdrive no longer works with vista SP1. but i have had this problem before SP1 was released so the tlb cant be the only problem.
edit: i have an older version of my bios without the TLB fix.
