I'd recommend Crysis for a great fps with the best graphics out to date. It depends on the genre you like.
Civilization 5 - Great Turn based strategy with amazing gameplay and good graphics Dawn of War 2 - Very good RTS, with great online play + intense battles. Also recommend Starcraft 2, on what people have been telling me - dont own the game yet :P But really depends on what you like - give me more of an idea of what genre your looking for and ill post back :) Good luckDN13xI like a bit of everything but mainly fps's, horror, games with general good atmosphere (STALKER and Half Life 2) , some point and click type games (fallout, baldurs gate). Things like that. And thanks!
Amnesia recently came out and has an amazing atmosphere. If you have Oblivion sitting around get the mod Nehrim for some Gothic Atmosphere. If you want an RPG with some nice atmosphere check out Risen. Can't think of anymore.
Half-Life Deus Ex Quake 3 Arena StarCraft 1 and 2 System Shock 1 and 2 Bioshock 1 and 2 DOOM 1 and 2 Team Fortress Classic and 2 Portal 1 and 2 Thief 1 and 2 Planescape: Torment Fallout 1 and 2 The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series This will be the last list I make for a long time.kdawg88This and
Civ 4, Civ 5, Metro 2033, Starcraft 2, The Orange Box, Dragon Age Origins, The Witcher, Left 4 Dead 1 & 2, Amnesia The Dark Descent, Dead Space, Crysis, Crysis Warhead, Penumbra series, Dawn of War 1 & 2. And don't forget to download Alien Swarm off STEAM. It's free, and good.Elann2008That.
Company of Heroes. savetehhaloz
I agree with this. Lemme elaborate... I got my gaming PC (which is probably past its peak right about now) specifically to play Company of Heroes with a friend. I think your computer can max out CoH (I don't know about the GT9500 though) or even run it on high. I think CoH is one of the best looking RTSs in terms of scale, effects, and animations. Going from old-school PC games (Warcraft 3/Starcraft days) I went to consoles for the next 6-7 years. When I came back and CoH was the first thing I played on PC, it blew me away. IMO playing COH for the first time was such an extreme, that I went from shooters and RPGs to modern RTS, that really said to me, Hey you're playing on a PC! Good for you!
It's hard to explain. But no PC should go without ever experiencing its greatness. And for me as well, this was the first time I bought subwoofers, so the sounds of the falling artillery, the rumbling tanks.. all amazing.
So if you want my honest opinion, hit up COH and the PC games that make it great, like Civilization or probably Starcraft. As good as the Valve games are, CS and Half Life Source and the like, I would actually say hold off on those for now, but definitely try them out when you feel like it. It's just harder to jump into and really get a good experience from it if you don't know what you're doing. As a exception though, TF2 is still constantly updated so it's almost like new and always a good time. But things like Counter Strike and Day of Defeat can turn you off forever if the first experience is a bad one.
Company of Heroes
The witcher
Killing Floor
Amnesia: the dark descent
Vampire the masquerade: Bloodlines
Deus ex
STALKER series
Crysis
Civ 5
Fallout 1,2
Baldurs gate 1,2
Arcanum
Ufo: Enemy Unknown (x-com:defense)
Starcraft 2
Battlefield 2
CS:S
Planescape Torment
Those are the "must haves" in my oppinion, altho I likely forgot a whole lot of games, most ahve allready been mentioned tho, so this is just an ekko :P
If you like horror games Dead Space is a must play.
When it comes to atmosphere they nail it.
Must have:
Orange Box
FPS :
Bad Company 2
Modern Warfare 2(probably should just wait for Black Ops it has dedicated servers)
1. great action sequences and fun multiplayer
Borderlands - Awsome game and has 4coop
Left 4 Dead 2 - multiplayer mayhem
Far Cry 2 - Great shooter
I would also recommend checking out:
Mass Effect 1 & 2
Just Cause 2 -awesome free roam
If you ever get into MMO's I would highly recommend:
Global Agenda - Its a TPS thats free to play after you buy the game
If you google it go to main website and go with their free trial.
I like a bit of everything but mainly fps's, horror, games with general good atmosphere (STALKER and Half Life 2) , some point and click type games (fallout, baldurs gate). Things like that. And thanks! Metro 2033 - Great atmosphere, bits of horror thrown in, has graphics on par with Crysis Amnesia - Great atmosphere, pure horror. This is old school survival-horror too in that you're completely helpless and generally have no way to fight the monsters Crysis + Crysis: Warhead - Solid FPS games, must own if you want to take advantage of your new hardware Grim Fandango - It's an old game but arguably the best adventure game ever made. You might have trouble running it on an x64 system though Deus Ex - Another oldie. Very immersive RPG/Stealth/FPS hybrid and a must-own if you haven't already played it[QUOTE="DN13x"]Civilization 5 - Great Turn based strategy with amazing gameplay and good graphics Dawn of War 2 - Very good RTS, with great online play + intense battles.
