Recommend a Empire-Building RTS!

I already played Rome: Total War (Pretty good),Empire Earth II (Love it and Hate it)Empire Earth I (Hate it),Rise of Nations (Meh)and Age of Empires II (Boring) so don't recommend them.

Empire building, historical, and an RTS? Thats the real kicker, RTS and Empire Building dont really go together. The only ones I can think of are Pharoh (awesome) and Caesar 4, but those are more city builders. Still, you might like them.

europa universalis 2 is really good. and very historical, before you become an expert anyway :) 3 isn't that good; I prefer nice 2D graphics to sh*tty 3D ones.

mm. you could also try crusader kings + expansion. from the same developer, and is historical.

not sure what you mean by empire building, but medieval total war isn't that bad (if thats your thing). it gets boring real quick, but its good for 3 games or so.

Actual Empire building RTS games aren't easy to find. I could list plenty of historical RTS that would fall under Empire Earth like, but they aren't Empire building, just straight RTS like Empire Earth. The Total War series and Europa Universalis are the only real ones I can think of that has an actualy empire building part and many people enjoy.

Edit: All of the games running off of the EU engine would count aswell I guess. So that Crusader game and Hearts of Iron go in to. Not sure it'd appeal to you since you don't really control battles in them, well you don't in Hearts of Iron, no clue if it's like that in the others.
