Recommend me an LCD :) Preferably a good 19inch 1280x1024 LCD and also a 1600x1200 so I know my choices. I've been looking at the Viewsonic 930B 19inch 1280x1024 LCD, is it good? XboxBoy1205
It's not only good. It's probably the best 19 inch model available. I have its precedessor, the VP191b and it's head and shoulders above any other LCD I've seen.
What about Samsung 940BF? But yah I heard reviews on tomshardware and anandtech say viewsonic one is best 19inch LCD.
Thing about CRTs is I can do 1600x1200, and for LCDs dont want to buy 1600x1200 one too expensive. Is 1600x1200 over estimated?
I would have 2GB Ram, 2.8 ghz P4 and 7900gt. But again 1600x1200 requires getting a new video every few months or at least every 6 months.

The 940BF is the equivalent of the VX922. Better response times at the expense of image quality (6-bit panel).
Come on guys I need a final decision!
Theres the Viewsonic VX924 VX922 930B and Samsung 930BF. And you said for 930B its best 19" monitor, and sacrifices response time for picture quality, describe more please. How does response time help, what would you do if you were me (7900gt) im a noob don't want to make a wrong decision!

The overall best monitor is the 930B (hence the price).
Response time is the time needed to change the color of one pixel on teh monitor to another color. If the response time is high, the screen takes longer to update and that translates in ghosting, blurring and trails with fast moving images (like in games). All the monitors mentioned above have good response times but the VX922 and the 930BF are somewhat better than the other two.
Image quality. That's a general term for a lot of variables like the amount of colors the panel can display (6-bit panels like the VX92x cannot display the same color range as an 8-bit panel like in the VP930B), the contrast (better blacks), the brightness of the colors, screen uniformity (some parts of the screen are more lit than other parts, this shoudl be kept to a minimum), viewing angle (the colors fade when you don't look at a 90° angle at the monitor, if the viewing angle is wide enough this is not a problem) etc.
Yes I'm decided on 19"..don't want that widescreen.
I need to decide, 930B viewsonic or samsung 930BF

Yeah, fo for 970p. I have it and it is a great monitor. And it has PVA.Â
