I have no clue how I managed to delete my Recycle Bin but I did. I don't recall left-clicking to delete it, I believe it was removed by installing or uninstalling something I believe, in any case it's gone and I can't get it back. I've tried searching with no luck too. This is an HP laptop with XP SP2.

Any suggestion?

Wow, never heard that before. At very least, can you still send things to it and use disk clean up to empty it?

Maybe you dragged the Recycle Bin icon into some little corner?

Did you have norton utlilities or systemworks installed?

IIRC they replaced the recycle bin with their own version of it, it may have stuffed the uninstall.

What exactly did you uninstal recently anyway?

right click on your desktop, go to desktop tab, then customize desktop, in the lower left, check box your recycle bin

Nothing helped so far. My icon definatately isn't on the desktop. I've never had Norton because I can't stand it, and I'm showing desktop icons and the Recyle Bin option in customize deskop has been restorned and whatnot but still not on desktop!

Do a Start-Search for files and folders-Select all drives and type in Recycle Bin. Then right click on recycle bin and select Restore or drag icon back onto desktop

Happened one time with Millenium... not only the recycle bin, but all the icons of the classic view were missing.

You need to format... whenWindows is going crazy, it's time to format.
