After seeing the video trailer n such, it seems like a decent C&C game. Is it worth the pick-up?

Do the mods work with the steam version?Imo, yes, definitely, many will say no.
It also has lots of awesome mods, like this one.

That you should not, Uprising really is a horrible expansion, you should only get it if you want to have the entire collection or you had an extremely great time with RA 3.Get it and while youre at it, get Uprising.

I can tell you that i had an extremely great time with ra3 and still hated uprising.
Most of what it costed was the commanders challenge which failed to amaze me. It was just preset skirmish modes, but you get to unlock a unit in the end.
For example, if you go play skirmish and put kenji as enemy, in a commander challenge mission it will put you in the same map with kenji, but add a "story" to it, like "Look, commander kenji wants to oppose you and claim this region for him, deafeat him commander!".
You can do the same in skirmish, just no shiny explanation and unit is already unlocked. Awesome!
red alert 3is a great game uprising is poop in a bag ONLY get it if you absolutely need to but seriously given the choice between uprising and tiberium twilight.. id go twilight ANYDAY OF THE WEEK (those words will never again pass my mouth regarding C & C 4)
