Ok, so I've played both these games before and Loved them. I just can't decide between one or the other (for now). So I was wondering which is better by a democratic vote. PLease leave feedback as to why you chose what you chose! If you may have guessed, I am a History buff and love realism, but they both are so darn realistic!!!

Heres the "Rig", not much but it gets the job done :)

Thanks!

COD2 isnt really that realistic, not on the level of COD1, and certainly not on the level of Red Orchestra.

That said I like both of them, but they are to different to be compared like this.

Red Orchistra is miles more realistic than CoD, and the multiplayer gameplay is x10 better because of it.  CoD does have single player though (but thats "been there and done that" once you beat it in less than 10 hours).

If you like single player then get call of duty 2 but if you like to play online then get red orchestra.

I could never get into the CoD games, becuase the action in single-player was just so heavily scripted and the missions were very linear. It honestly felt more like I was just watching a movie instead of actually controlling a character in a game. The multiplayer was good, but I always thought that Day of Defeat and Red Orchestra were better. But outside of the iron sights in CoD, its not a very realistic game.

But I do love Red Orchestra. I play it pretty regularly, and the realism of it is definatly a big draw for me. There's projectile drop, realistic damage (you can shoot the guns out of people's hands, if you're a lucky enough shot), and the weapon and vehicle models are as accurate as they come. Map selection is great, with very wide open and large rural maps, but also some great smaller urban and trench maps.

If you want realism and multiplayer, Red Orchestra is your best bet.

I guess it's already decided. RO wins. :)

COD2 has a nice singleplayer but that will only last for like 10 hours. RO has an awesome multiplayer which will last MUCH longer. RO wins because it's realistic. The only realistic thing in COD2 is the fact that there are humanoids called Allies and Axis that try to kill each other... Yet, they are not real humans. RO is probably the most realistic game at the moment. It has solid gameplay and there are even vehicles. Plus what everyone else has already said. So RO wins.

CoD2's SP was amazing. But I'm not too fond of it's MP. I love realism in WWII games so RO Ostfront 41-45 was really amazing. I love the weapons and how realistic they behave. It's too bad that it's not that popular.
