I've been having issues with my computer lately and want to just re-install Windows 7. I was just wondering if i can use the same cd-key for re-installing it without having any problems. Going to be doing a clean wipe on it.

yes, windows 7 i've used the same key to reformat/reinstall three times on the same computer thus far, no problems yet.
and i recall for office (may have the same rules as windows, not sure) you could use the same key 5 time before they'd start e-mailing u to clarify how many computers you have.

I've had to call in to activate my legal Windows 7 Retail copy since my first install. I've reinstalled twice and had to "reactivate" about three times due to hardware changes, and every time gone through the mennu to activate. It takes a little extra time, but I did manage to get it working each time.

Not a huge fan of what basically amounts to PITA DRM.

Was it because of Win 7 Service Pack 1?

I'll assume this comment was directed at me, in which case the answer is no; I was an early adopter. Every time I swapped memory, my motherboard, or added hard drives I had to reactivate.

That said, I do love Windows 7; it's by far the best OS since 2000.

Directed at TC;

piece of advice - if you have several language packs installed, DO NOT INSTALL SERVICE PACK 1!!

Yeah, you'll be fine.

If you have the retail version, you can reinstall on the same system as many times as you like.

If you have OEM, you can reinstall a maximum number of times (I think 5). Any more than that and you have to phone up Microsoft.
