I had been running battlefield 2, the special forces expansion, and I think update v1.3 on my old laptop. I had to get a new laptop so I am finding myself re-installing all over again. Frustrating to say the least. I am not sure of the order I need to install the programs however. I first installed the original BF2, obviously, then Special Forces, then downloaded and ran updat v1.41. For some reason the update gets to about 8 percent and says patch failed. Then the last window of installshield comes up and tells me it was installed successfully. Mind you after installing the original game I didn't do any updating before installing special forces, and after installing SF I went straight to the full update to v1.41. Does anyone know if I should have went in a specific order (ex. bf2-patch-SF, or bf2-patch-SF-patch), or is there just a problem with patch v1.41?

On another note, I noticed the booster pack collection is only $10 now and I was thinking of picking that up. How does that play nto the grand scheme of installing this crap? I have heard that installing the boosters is sort of hit-or-miss, and a very delicate process at that.

If you still have your old laptop you could always just transfer the files over to your new computer. I think you have to install v 1.3 on the original Battlefield 2, install Special Forces, and then install the other patch. I am not sure but the best way would be to install all patches for Battlefield 2 that were released before Special Forces, install Special Forces and install all patches released after Special Forces was released. Best way to do it I guess
