On my older computer I had the same issue when playing games at different resolutions then my desktop. What I did was just press the menu button on my monitor and adjusted it to fit the screen.
You've probably got per-pixel scaling (or no scaling really) on, which means that it just uses the number of pixels required, and doesn't scale the image to fit the entire screen.
Depending on what graphics card you've got, look for an option in the video card's options (e.g. Nvidia Control Panel) for Flat-Panel Scaling. Then set it to use fixed aspect ratio scaling (or if that doesn't appear, just any sort of scaling).
how do i go about doing that....i cant find where those options are...i have an HP laptop running windows xp service pack 2 and my video card is an intergrated ati xpress 200mYou've probably got per-pixel scaling (or no scaling really) on, which means that it just uses the number of pixels required, and doesn't scale the image to fit the entire screen.
