oblivion and good... does not compute.

but baldur's gate 2 is the best rpg of all time, so you should check that out. or try vampire: the masquerade - bloodlines for something more recent. mass effect is even more recent and almost as good. people say the witcher is good, so you should give that a try, but i haven't liked it much thus far.

- The Witcher

- KOTOR

- Gothic 3 (the game oblivion should have been imo)

- Neverwinter NIghts 1 and 2

- Daggerfalls and Morrowind from the elderscrolls series

- Age Of COnan (i had fun with this game while i was playing it)

- Arx Fatalis - another great singleplayer rpg iwth awesome atmosphere

- Divine Divinity ( one of the most underrated rpgs ive ever played, its fantastic)

- FF7

- Fallout 1 and 2 (classics that every gamer should try)

- Diablo 2 and expansion pack

- The Wizardry Series

- Baldurs Gate 2

there are some, but not much, *rare* even JRPGs on PC (non-Aisan language). get yourself a console or consoles and you'll be happy.

The xbox 360 has some great jrpgs (Lost Odyssy and Tales of Vesperia are both fantastic). There is also Eternal Sonata, Blue Dragon, Band Of Bugs and Star Ocean/Last Remnant coming out very soo.

Your not goign to find many jrpgs on PC. I enjoy both western and Jrpgs alot. RPGS are my fav genre and each offers thre fiar share of good stuff if you give both a chance.

If you want something kinda Oblivionish I say Gothic 3.

It is a MUCH better game imo.

Im pretty sure that all jrpgs are Ultima clones. Get Vampire The Masquade Bloodlines, btw. Its a great game, buggy but easily one of the best rpgs Ive ever played.

(It doesn't always have to be a character you made up, it just has to be that you have control of what this character does.) A true RPG has choice that can be prove as a good thing or a bad thing sooner or later in the game. Let's say for this one boss battle you fought a guy and members of his clan. If you you choose to let them live they come back in the game later more powerful, if you chose to kill the leader and let the members live later on ex-members come to join you and thank you for saving them from a clan they happened to be forced into. If you choose to kill them off you have to face a very powerful guy who turns out to be a brother of one of the clan leaders.Nerkcon
