I will be buying a Samsung 32'' LCD HDTV this week it displays 720p, but then I saw that there is also a version of it that displays 1080p but it's $300 more, I will be using it mainly for gaming and some TV viewing, will there be such a visual difference that I will regret not buying the one that displays 1080p? or will it not matter at this size?

Hey.. I had the same doubt a week ago.... and I end up getting the 720p, now it depends on how lover of graphics you are and if yo watch blue ray much.

the 1080p is not used by games, atm (as far as I know) exc for 1 game (MGS4) all games are 720p. Now this in the future may change, but for me the extra video capacity was not worth 300, the graphics looks amazing with 720p

Now all Blue-ray (As far as I know) are in 1080p so if you would like to use that at max, then...

Hope that helps...

Yea I don't watch blue-ray, and 70% of the time I'm using it for gaming so it seems the 720p would be the best choice then, thanks for the info.

definately get the 720p, 1080p is not worth it if your playing games mostly. I got the 32" Samsung LN32A330 had it for 2 weeks brought it back because it had the flashlight effects on all corners of the screen. just yesteday i bought a new tv Samsung LN32A450 which is alot better higher contrast ratio and it has a clear panel which makes colors more alive. definately recommend this tv big difference from the LN32a330 though more expensive.

@certified: glad I helped. Thus I should tell you that I have a issue with the tv, for some reason I can not manage to connect AV2 so it would be OK (I just get a white and balck image) Thus this is just me, my best friend have teh same tv and he has no problem.

I`m pry connecting something the wrong way  I`m kind of noob with HDTV :)

but yea, in relation to price and such this one is great. I agree with Halo, but the 450 was to $$$ for me, and the iamge looked great for me with the 330 (exc that thing that I still ahve to find the time to figured out)

So does it say if it's 330 or 450 on the box? or do you have to ask around?

yea.. it should ahve teh model of the tv outside the box... it would say either LN32A330 or LN32A450.. and so on.

What you should ask around is for pricing... another friend just got the 300 as open box for 600 (with taxes). I paid 730 last weekend. And as you can see Halo paid a great price for the 450. Just ask around in teh store.

Also know taht circuit city match prices.

(I would let you know how circuit city warranty is, I may have gotten a defected product.. I have a weird luck with electric stuff... :? out of 4 ppl buying this tv at almost the same time, I manage to get one with a defect. thx god (I hope) I got the advantage protection plan from circuit city)

That's the one I'm ordering today!

As for the original poster, I don't think that 32" is big enough to really get the effect of 1080p. To the guy who has a TWENTY-SIX inch tv and 1080p... wow

I just bought three days ago from Best Buy...Samsungs 37" 720p (probably just like the one you'll buy) and I went with 720p after months and months of research about the 1080p or 720p. One a set that size...unless you're setting less than 4 feet from the tv...you won't notice the difference. If you sit a normal distance (5 to 9 feet) then you'll be more than fine with 720p. Gaming only uses 720p (and even some games use less than that)...TV only broadcasts in 720p and occasionally 1080i...so basically the 1080p thing is needed if your set is large...you're setting really close or you plan to watch a lot of HD BluRay.

HDTV's are changing so much...just save the money...enjoy what you have and trust me...in a few years...you'll want to upgrade again cause things will improve....this isn't the last TV you'll ever buy...your games will look great...and with the Samsung you get the "Just Scan" feature (1:1 pixel mapping) if you use HDMI...and you also have the "Game Mode" on the Samsung (which basically shuts off all the processes in the tv that would drag down performance when you're playing games).

Good luck with your new tv. I love mine....only complaint....Wii really looks like crap on larger LCD TV's...but that's NIntendos fault and not Samsungs.
