Hi, I want to buy a new PSU but it only comes with SATA power leads for the HDD. I only have a IDE HD and dont want to have to get rid of that just for the PSU, is there anyway I can power my current HD with the new PSU?

Thanks alot guys

You can buy adapters for a couple dollars, your psu might even come with some.

ok I just looked at my HD again and apparently its UltraATA. Does this mean a sATA PSU cord would be able to power it or would I need an adapter again?
cheers!

What PSU are you getting that has no 4-pin Molex connector? I just checked a random selection of Antec, Thermaltake and Coolermaster PSU, and they all had 4 pin molex connectors as well as SATA power connectors. Double check your PSU...

Sorry, i'm getting a bit confused lol. I'm trying to upgrade my older PC. I'm replacing the CPU+HSF. But to do this I need to upgrade my PSU this is the one I was thinking about:

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-023-OC

However it says it only has 3x SATA, i presumed this meant 3 chords which can power SATA HDD.

What I want to do is power my UltraATA HDD with this PSU but I thought you would need some kind of converter from the SATA leads to the UltraATA HD.

This is my mobo:

Thanks alot..

6 x 4-pin peripheral

So plenty of power cords to attach you ATA disk.
