I'm looking forward to this game and will definitely buy it if it's as good as Saw movies.
Who else is looking forward to this game?

Yea whatever, but what do YOU think about it? :P
If you think that the Saw films were good then you really need to watch some other movies desperately. I couldn't care less about a Saw game. It will probably be as ridiculous as the films and real over the top gore.solid_mario
agree

Name any "good" movie, I'm sure I've seen it and enjoyed it but I've also enjoyed SAW. It's all about taste. You don't agree with other people's taste in movies? That's fine but there's no need to act like an arse.
I like the Saw movies but I also enjoy other movies like Heat, Casino and Black Hawk Down etc. Anyways, I don't think the game will be any good. I don't see how you can turn the Saw movies into a video game.ForsbergFan21
You know that in each movie someone completes tests, right? Save other people from traps if you want to. Well you could be one of them. It would be nice 1st person shooter.
I thought this was only coming to console. I looked it up on Gamespot not that long ago.
Anyhow, I have seen the first two movies. I like the first one - something a bit different to the slasher genre, but boy they dropped the ball with the sequel. It was pretty awful (though maybe not as bad as Hostel).
They are trying to release a new Saw film every October and I'm a bit sick of these torture pr0n movies.
I won't be buying this game if it is released on PC.

Not me. Saw was too screwed up.
Notice that saw spelled backwards is was!
Saw is too pitiful an attempt at making a good horror movie to care about the game adaptation. What is the game gonna be like? Tests? God, why don't they make a kaplan edition then? Prepare for the SATs while throwing people in tubs full of freaking needles. YAY!

You know that in every episode there is some guy who has to complete tests to save his/her own life, right?
I liked the first movie a lot. Thought the second one was ok. Thought the 3rd one was retarded. I can only imagine the fourth one should be buried miles beneath the earth so no human eyes may gaze upon it... but I haven't seen it.
Most games based on movies or tv shows end up sucking. My theory as to why this is is because the game devs know that people will buy the game one way or the other because they liked the movie. Why spend extra money to make the game when ppl will buy it anyway. If I was them, I wouldn't.
There are some exceptions. One quick example, some (and I say SOME) of the Lord of the Rings games are pretty good. However, I can't see how this movie (Saw) would translate well to a game. I suspect it will be utter garbage. Gamespot will probably give it a 5 or 6. But we'll see when it comes out.

4th was actually really good compared to 3rd, it showed why and how Jigsaw turned into that kind of serial killer.
I think they should make a Saw 5, and it's a movie where the head bad guy is a retard He should capture a bunch of people and set up tests for them to complete to save their life, but the tests are so dumb and ambiguous people can't even figure out what it is they are supposed to do in the first place. The traps set up to kill them should end up being duds 2/3 of the time. For example, a crossbow fires when someone steps on a tripwire, but the retard forgot to load the bolt into the crossbow.
Then at the end the captured people figure out that the retard put them into a building with paperthin walls, so they just kick the wall and walk out onto the street as if nothing happened.
Also at the end, the retard should walk into the final chamber (where the final survivor should be) only to step onto his own trap since the survivor escaped long ago. The trap should go off and turn out to be a dud, so the retard lives, almost all the captured people live, and so there is room for a sequel. Wow, I could be a movie writer.
And they should make the game based on this version of the movie.

Here is the actor that would be used for the head bad guy:
They will make Saw 5 and even Saw 6.rom11
Its already coming out this October. They are milking this thing to death because they know they can make them cheaply and quickly and people will still go and see it. How sad...

Dude, if they made the movie how I specified just above your post, it would be totally sweeeeeeet! I'd watch every sequel... but they won't... so I won't.

Actually it's not that cheap that you might think. Over 10 million bucks is kinda big budget for movies like this imo.

My version would be more like a 40k budget. Much more cost effective... much better plot... a fresh take on the whole Saw series. I can only imagine at this point that Hollywood is waiting to use this idea until they really really want to top at the box office... otherwise they surely would have already taken my idea.

Consider the following budgets:
Spiderman 2: $200 million.
Ironman: $135 million.
Or even a film like The Ring (Remake) $48 million.
10 million is nothing.
The game starts with the protagonist, a young girl waking up in the morning, in her apartment just like yesterday. She's slapping her make-up on (which you as the player do in a little mini-game) then you spot the door creep open behind you. Suddenly your in full control. Not knowing what your doing, you pick up the electric tooth brush, wield it as a weapon and proceed to open the door (forgetting to loot the med kit in the Mirror Cabinet).
The curtains have been closed and the lights switched off. You pull out your mobile phone to use it as a torch, then you hear a freaky groan! You spin around to the direction of the sound, but see nothing. Then suddenly! your phone receives and incoming call, the sudden sound of the ring tone with the vibration cause our young heroine to jolt (along with one of them girly yelps) Having dropped the phone you must then pick it up. Reaching for the phone reveals the grotesque figure of a pig-mask from under the sofa, shining in dim yellow light of your Samsung E720 mobile (in game advertisement for extra budget).
Then your in full control again, What do you do! Run back in the bathroom and lock the door? Run for the bedroom! Charge at it with your electric toothbrush, pressing X to discover that the attack animation is longer and shorter ranged then expected!
But anyway, I think Saw would make a great game in the form of a Silent Hill 3 style survival horror game with decisions and multiple outcomes of a situation. Plenty of timed, high pressure puzzles that don't let you pause the action, to put pressure of those players using a walk-through or looking at GameFAQs. Punishing the player for being hesitent one moment, then the next room someones dies because they didn't asses the situation before entering. Plenty of horrific screams, a few combat scenes for good measure.
How I don't want to see it go is turn into a Phantasmagoria type interactive movie game. Ugh...I'm so glad they don't make games like that anymore.
There won't be anything to do in the game. Its not like Jigsaw has his own posse of an endless supply of hoodlums to run at you. There's only traps.
I suspect that this game will be similiar in ****to Condemned.

Considering what they make from this rubbish franchise 10 million is nothing.
Face it: Its a low budget in the movie business.
My god, why would anyone bother. I enjoyed the first movie to some extent (and this is coming from someone who refused to see it at first due to the subject of the film) but a game is crazy, I can imagine the horrible gameplay now, "force baldy to cut of his arm to continue"
Now there will be more people jumping on the anti-video game bandwagon

Sitting through the first film was ok, i thought it was ok. but after Saw 2 (which was acceptable to some extent) I just lost interest with Saw 3, I doubt I will bother with 4. Saw 8 has been proposed, personnally i think you would be a sucker to see 5.

You can't compare King Kong with Saw. Maybe Hostel which also had lower budget than Saw.
I think this discussion is leading away from even talking about games and more about arguing about how much it costs to produce a movie.
Games based on movies almost always suck... here's the thread about that: Games based on movies/tv - any good?
df853
I agree but I still can't wait to watch some gameplay videos of it.

I'm interested too. Either way it will be entertaining to see. If the game looks like a total piece o' crap, it'll be hilarious. If it looks good it'll be impressive. If it's just mediocre then it'll go into the mass pile of movie-based games of that category (the least entertaining of the 3 possibilities).
