hey i want everyone 2 share their top 3 scariest games

here are mine:

1. Doom 3

2. Condemned

3. Clive Barker's Jericho

(i kno mine kinda suck but i play all difirent kinds of games so i havent played many scary games)

ive heard of the thief games before

i just watched a gameplay vid-kinda reminds me of splinter cell........

lol...do not compare them.

Thief is so much better and it came out long before Splinter Cell (in '98).

You should buy all three games!!

In Morrowind when you go into the dark temples and all of the sudden a vampire is there and you are hitting itand shooting it! oh no i am scared weres my bed i must go under it!

I have to say that Doom 3 demo was pretty freaky. Not because the monsters were scary, but because creatures could come from anywhere (walls, ceiling, floor, etc). Freaked me out when I saw one of those infested humans crawling out of the staircase. I heard Condemnd was also quite scary.Swiftstrike5

Im not that into Scary games , i was gonna buy F.E.A.R. after i played the demo but i played throguh the high way level in HL2 and i got scared when teh poision zombies walked out of the room so i decided not to....

I dont like gore fest that much....

Is that the one with the headcrabs on its back? That is the scariest creature in the game.

3. Nothing else on PC compares, but Silent Hill on the PlayStation was pretty spectacular.

Yes it is!!!!! The worst part of the gamme with it is in the back of Nova Prospect. i think this is were, and you jump over the fence and you walk into the dark room and you walk into a darkopening with blood streaks and you think it is back there and it isnt!!! Then it mowns at you and it is behind you! Look out! Luch and grenade! Take out the rocket! Your out of ammo! Shoot it with snow mag rounds but it is still coming! oh no your cornered!!!!!!! What is going to happen!!! you find your lad nade and you drop it...... then you take your life so you don't become one of those things. Then alyx jumps over and in one shot it is dead! She starts crying over you bloody mutalated body. She puts the gun up so her head and pull the tringer..... I AM OUT OF AMMO!!! "those head crabs have teeth right?" ..... She takes her life with a head crab tooth!

I didn't actually find any of these games "scary" as such, but they definatly had a creepy atmosphere which was done better than any other game.

I thought Return To Castle Wolfenstein: Tides of War on the original XBOX was quite a thrill.cliffgnome

naw sir, just Return to Castle Wolfenstein (I think they were the same, but I like the PC :P ). That game had some messed up elements. The entire later half of the game was about the science and mutations they pulled off in experiments...it was freaky.

Games aren't scary, but the only games that are a little scary are Condemned and Call of Cthulhu

It is - very underrated

Maybe someone has already said this, but BIOSHOCK is scary as hell. By far the spookiest game I've ever played, but I've never seen HL2 or system shock (two of the others that seemed to have gotten a lot of votes).oxchangeo

Most of the game is very tense rather than scary. Though there are some very scary parts like the bit where you investigate that room with the dead woman on the bed or when the splicers are lying on the floor and the lights go on and off and they wait for you to walk over them. I jumped out of my skin.

System Shock 2 for sure

That game needs to be remade exactly as it is, but with todays DX10 graphics, and no compromising down to DX9.

I get squeamish watching things like surgeries, so Quake 4 and even Bioshock at times was difficult for me to watch.

Doom 3 was jumpy-scary at first but then it just got annoying and I stopped playing.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. definitely gave me the most engrossing f*** with your head type of horror, 'cept maybe Dark Corners of the Earth or Black Plague.

Portal was wierd-scary for a moment when I discovered one of the hidden rooms haha.

Doom 3, no comparison.

Four years later after Doom 3 was first released and people are still mentioning as "scariest", even though many other scary games came after it. I think Doom 3 left it's mark on some people, it's like walking in and out of hell and still breathing.

Doom 3 isnt as scary as Condemned or The Cradle level ion Thief 3gillri

Certain things trigger certain people; fear isn't universal. I didn't so much as flinch with any of those games (especially Thief 3, lol), but Doom 3 freaked me out at times.
