Setting up bluetooth on a macbook

i have just got a macbook and have been trying to use the bluetooth but i can only send items but cant receive them, does anybody know how to fix this?

What are you trying to send to and from? A phone or something?

EDIT: I tried a connection between my MacBook Pro and I was able to send a picture to my Blackberry, but unfortunately my Blackberry doesn't have a send picture feature, it just receives. Not sure what else I have that supports BT.

Check your Control Panel>Bluetooth>Sharing settings. Mine works with the following settings:

Bluetooth file transfer- Locked (You may try starting it though)

BT file exchange- On

BT-PDA Sync- On
