I am not worried about not being able to see the extra detail of 1080p. It will be used as a PC monitor as well, so I will be close to it when viewing.

If it's doubling as a PC monitor, then definitely the Sharp for the much higher resolution. It's just convenient to have all that extra work space.

Of those two I would get the sharp, you absolutely do need 1080p on a monitor of that size if you want it to be a PC monitor. But over these two I would get the 37" westy, less money for more size, and as a matter of fact I did just that! Personally I wouldn't buy sharp, they're just cheaper. Depends on how bad you want the higher resolution I guess. I'd take a lower res samsung over sharp anyday though.

Sharp is one of the most expensive brands on the market. Aquos is right up there with BRavia and the Samsung units.

I didn't mean cheap in the cost sense, sorry. They may have improved in quality some, but 5 years ago, I worked at best buy.... and we just had so many problems with sharp products... all of them. As I said, things may have improved... still, I won't be buying any.

i just bought a 42" sharp aquos 1080p lcd and it is great so far...i got a great deal on it .... if you go to best buy and find a cheaper somewhere else they will price match for you and reduce their warranty by the same percentage...for 150 i got a four year warranty from them...no matter what happens they will fix or replace it for four years...
