Shift 2 for 18 bucks. Worth it?

Just wondering what others who have played it think of it. I liked the first Shift, and was wondering if it's worth it at this price.

Yeah it's a great game. Not as realistic (or frutrating) as rFactor, but better than Shift 1 for sure.

Is there some kind of career mode with a story or is it basically just driving?

I played it for a little while, and IMHO it's not even worth pirating. Ugly, long load times, and handles like crap.

Not true mate, at least not for me. A lot of games see price drops really fast because they sell well. Also, I loved the first Shift game. And EA has been doing this lately with their games. Dead Space 2 rings a bell. DS2 has sold very well. Thanks to this heads up, I bought it. Shift 2 isn't going to be around $20 again until maybe Winter Sale. In fact, I haven't seen it cheaper than $35-40 anywhere besides EA store. So I'll take it at this price, rather than wait months down the line when I might not care about it as much due to big releases like Skyrim, BF3, Uncharted 3, etc. Thanks TC for the post.

If they do a nice promo like this for Darkspore, I might grab that one up too. It looks pretty interesting, but I wasn't planning on buying it until it hit the bargin bin. I would consider it if they did a promo like this one for it.

simracing tonight seem fairly fond of it, likening the physics more to gt5 and forza.

sadly its 80 usd on the EA store for aussies

Not worth it imo. It's a lot worse than the first game.

I never normally go negative on a game but , I pre ordered it, I think it was $49.99, in little less than over a month it's $18.00 that's a $31.99 price drop.

Positives

• it gets you inside a car and gives you a feeling of racing, the steering, the sound etc, that's good.
• I don't play online but I'm willing to go out on a limb and say that online's a plus. If you a pure sim racer this is for you.

Negatives

• I'm all for females in games, but I prefer when they do more than just stand around looking at my car in six inch heels, half clad, race after race after race....., the guy who is explaining stuff tries his best with enthusiasm, but I wasn't feeling It, maybe given a choice betweem him, Danica Patrick, Sarah Fisher....., women race too and used to do more in NFS games, don't they :(
• The graphics options wasn't all that.
• The graphics wasn't all that.
• There is no intriguing story or even an attempt at storyline, in other words...

I've already got GRID and I should have gone for F1 2010 with DX 11 and one of the most complex weather systems used in a racing game since I was gonna get another racing sim :P

$18.00 for Shift 2 I'd say reasonable price.
