I want a new PC game but the only games i would feel happy about buying don't come out for a while. So im thinking to extinguish my boredom by buying Oblivion, a game i had for the 360 and put 200+ hours into, its broke now .

Now obviously with the PC you get mods which most of the time are quite funny and cool, but im not sure what else i would get out of it. Whilst playing it on the 360 it felt more built for playing on the PC and although im not certain how much better it will look on a PC i have a rig capable of playing it maxed out. I can buy it really cheap and its one of my all time fave games but is there ANY point at all in buying a game for 2 systems?.

Well that depends. See oblivion was released on the 360 and PC at the same time, so they are the same in content. PC version had maybe THOUSANDS of mods as of now. I would not recommend it though. Other games, like Assasin's Creed and GTA 4, are release after the console versions, and include some additopnal content so its is makes more sense to get them. I dont recomend it tho.

It depends.

The mods are sometimes worth it, esp for oblivion. I'd go for it

Oblivion yes, because there is a MASSIVE mod database for it that you can basicaly make a new game out of.

Only game I've re-purchased was Mass Effect. I got a gaming PC after my X360 and it was on sale for £12. Totally worth it for all the little upgrades BioWare put in, such as the inventory etc.

Definatly, oblivion has thousands of mods to extend replay. Their are even mods that add more islands its like millions of free expansion pack.

I did the same thing with Morrowind and it was well worth it. In fact I did it with KOTOR also but that wasn't really worth it.

Yes, here is a good idea

Buy games like Oblivion used from ebay. You can get GREAT games for dirt cheap used on ebay.

I wouldn't. Unless the alternate version is way different than the other.

the experience both on and offline wouldn't change much. Especially if you have a controler, it might feel like the same game cuz it is.

Too bad it isn't that much. Now the mods make it look much better than 360, but vanilla Oblivion PC doesn't look that much better then Xbox 360 version.

I think PC Fallout 3 looks a bit better than Consoles and more so then Oblivion. And trust me i own both. Now the big difference is if your PC is good enough than the game runs better than 360 and the grass can load in farther (that doesn't make the game look all that much better because you still get the nice unloaded textures in the distance to look like crap). I mean riding a horse in the woods on 360 is a big no, but on a good PC it is perfectly fine. And of course mods.

I actually did own the 360 version, but a friend scratched the disc too bad so i got the PC version. Go here if you want some good mods (then check other sites for some good ones too). http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?id=41&view=Articles.Detail I would suggest 1, 2, and 3 in there (haven't tried the others) and the 1st one (BTmod) is essential. If you don't get it you will hate all things inventory.

Depends on what game you're talking about. If it's in a similar situation as TF2, then yeah it's worth it.
