Hey all, Just wanted to share with whom ever cares. I bought this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824254026 Monitor back In March '09. for $359.00

I am pleased to say that I have had no problems what so ever - no dead pixels, bright and vibrant screen, full 1900x1200res. Thing is a beauty for gaming.

If anyone has been thinking of a good monitor - have no fear with going big and cheap.

X~

Doesnt it strain your eyes or give you headaches after playing for a while? Also isn't that contrast ratio a bit low? Also aren't you just doing this to boast?

More pixels = more workspace.

Something like that would be great for running Sonar 8.

After I get out of Basic and finish with my MOS training I plan on getting a TrippleHead2Go Digital Edition with 3 1680x1050 monitors and putting them on my PC.

Then I'll have a nice big, wide resolution of 5040x1050.

Though, this won't be until like June or so since my Basic isn't until November.

So far it's great for any app. I throw at it. Most would think that u'd have to sit far away to enjoy it, but Nope!! with all that resolution, I set just as close as ever. And it'shelped -up-my kill count on COD4 !!! ;)

Boastful? Heck no...!! Just spreading the word out there, that you can have a lot of visual real estate for Low price.

As far as the contrast-I'm glad I didn't base my purchase on specs alone-everything is bright and vibrant. No eye strain either.

Looks pretty nice, I'm currently in the market for something like this that can used as a TV/PC monitor for a second bedroom. Might check this guy out if the price comes down a little more.

I hooked up my 360 to to it - looks great - but the sound is terrible, u'd need a seperate sound device-I'm sure u already figured that though.

Depends what you do on your PC, though except for graphic designers 28" is excessive. For programming which is best with a lot of screen space, multiple screens make more sense as you only have to focus at one small thing at a time never one huge image.

You know multiple monitors is pretty much pointless unless you need to work with 3 things at once right? It won't give you more proper gaming (unless you just love FS) or movie space.

I dunno Markop - Half-Life has a feature that takes advantage of a 3 display setup , u can look it up on YouTube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v1gkwaOqMso - looks awesome! Don't know how many games utilize this feature though..

The TH2G comes with software that allows you to run games on it across the 'single' monitor.

What a TH2G does is that it makes your PC think you have three monitors hooked up instead of three. It's also great if you like SLI and CFX because it allows to run multiple monitors for greater DT space.

If you're gonna run games on just one monitor it seems a bit pointless getting another 2 when all you're gaining is more desktop space that you probably don't need =/

I wouldn't be running the game on one monitor. I would be running it on "one" monitor.

"One" monitor with a resolution of 5040x1050.

It's for theimmersion effect.

You really are right Markop - and with my large monitor, I really don't see a reason why I would need to go bigger, and certainly would'nt need 2 more. 3 monitors does look exceptionally awesome, but not that practical for the everyday gamer enthusiasts.

However, as I said earlier, there are a couple games out there - Check this out !!!!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v1gkwaOqMso

This is one reason why I'd like a Tri-Monitor s/u !!!

O.O There reaches a point where the size of the monitor is limited by the range of your eyesight my friend. :D

I think I'm going to get one of those. My birthday is very soon (great excuse). Then when I open the mixer in Sonar I could just use my 21" as a secondary and leave the mixer up on it. It's so annoying when you get above 15 tracks and the mixer opens up and covers all your other windows.:P
