Since Crysis is not a PC exclusive anymore...

I mean, I think that due to Crysis 2 being worked with on consoles, the PC quality will decrease. I really hope that it doesn't turn to this, and that Crytek will make the PC version first, and then port it to the consoles however they want to do it, so that Crysis 2 either keeps the quality of the original or even improves on some mechanics.

To be honest, I really want C2 to work out, and from what I've seen in a few videos, it still looks good.

Opinions?

I think they will make both at the same time, like most fps devs. The fps genre has exploded on console, its basically all fps games or nintendo games in the top 10 month after month.

I haven't and I'm the TC, so it would be injust if It was forbidden for me to make this thread, and if the jurisdiction of the moderators was implemented into locking this thread, democracy would not go any further :D

The engine has been optimized so much to work on current consoles they had planned the engine for the 2012 consoles. So the CryEngine 3 is more or less future proof. So they will push the PC hardware and modders will push it even more. Lets face it graphic mods for the 1st crysis look so much better then original settings now.

As soon as I heard/read the line "If it doesnt work on the console it gets dropped". This does not mean that the game will be bad but IT does mean we are missing out on possibly awesomeness.

IMO if it wasn't for the graphics the first Crysis would of been a pretty average game. The gameplay wasn't anything real special, so if its main selling point goes down in quality then what we're left with will just be another average shooter.

Yeah you're right, I especially love the part where the little alien things just hover around you shooting you and you have to take down their sheilds and then kill them one by one. Oh man so much fun!

Game would of been good if they had of learnt from their mutant mistake and not included aliens.

Well then does anyone care to help me out? I have a q6600 @ 2.9ghz, 4g ram and a 260gtx 216sp OC. I run at high on dx9, windows 7 at 1600x900 and my fps drops into the 30s way too much. Other games run fine

so far have only seen the console version perhaps crytek is going to show the pc verison at games com running at DX11

The PC quality wont drop and the console version will be the same. Crytek aren't Monolith, they wont pull a FEAR 2 on us!

I havent either, and yes i do expect the PC quality will drop, not necessarily in the graphics department but im expecting it will be noobed up to console standards like most multiplats are.

Consoles will never handle handle RTS / MMO kind of games.

So Pc still the king in that.

Bad Company 2 is more dependant on a good cpu as opposed to gfx card.

Bad Company 2 is more dependant on a good cpu as opposed to gfx card.

The point of the CE3 is that the developer can make a game for the pc and have it automatically port to the consoles, so the quality shouldn't suffer. SAGE_OF_FIRE

the poster above me is using a 4870 playing at dx10 at 1920x1080 maxed, both cards are at par with each other

pc will alwayz be better.. pc games will not be decrease.. and Crysis 2 will be better on pc version.. thats all!
