I got a copy of skyrim for the xbox360 for free.

But i was looking at the videos of the mods on PC and they look amazing!

my PC will be able to run it at high settings,

so is it worth it to lay down the 50$ for better graphics and awesome mods?

If you're going to make full use of the mods, then yes.

It actually does. You can play the game completely different on a second playthrough.

Yeah I have live 80 hours and that was for a single play through. Planning on taking another go at it in a few months with some mods. Game is great, and if you have a good PC you will not only be treated to mods, but a better looking game as well. Highly recommended.

isn't that what a game is supposed to be about? Awesome main quest, and then do side quests if you want?

It's like watching a tv show only for the filler(lol I don't watch animoo), but good comparison.

IMO console players got shafted heavily because, from my perspective, Skyrim is a game whose purchase price is only and entirely justified by the mods available for it and the mods that will be available for it. Heck, the Katamari mod should be released on consoles as, say, $30 dlc since they'd have more fun with that than with the vanilla game: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DiAaMALjMwk&hd=1

I am not trolling : / i play games for main quests... as you probably should and I imagine most people as well

also none of the skyrim mods seem that good. All they are typically are graphics enhancements which isn't needed, the game looks fine, and idc much about graphics.

None of them are like total conversion mods with their own story and all.

I couldn't even get to the main quest, something about the uncanny valley effect made me want to kill all the NPCs :( This basically sums up my experience with vanilla Skyrim: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eBlOHc0y-mE&hd=1

Yep, I'm still waiting for a mod comparable to Brutal Doom: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QLKZhu_dgxA, those NPCs are just begging for it.

You clearly arent even trying. I just added a new continent to my game with its own storyline and quests. And its in a rainforest with tigers and such. Your argument is invalid. And every TES game ever made has been a focus of side quests, random exploration, and mod making and sharing as their selling point.

I'd say yes, it's worth it. I don't know about the 360 version but my brother owns the PS3 version, and the game was much worse on PS3. Insanely long loading times, bad fps especially later in the game, almost slideshow like, much more glitches (dragons flying backwards lol) etc.

Not to mention that the PC version has a huge collection of mods that are super easy to install via steam workshop.

It's a better game on PC.

Yes, it's worth it. The graphics are better and the load times are a fraction of the xbox version's.

I'm starting a replay myself with a bad-@ss assasin chick. Already downloaded some cool mods for poisons, assasin armor and weapons, some cool crafting mods, severla mods that make the game look and sound AMAZING (realistic lighting, enhancements to the towns, sounds of skyrim). I'm still looking for more mods and the latest episode of Gamespot's best 5 skyrim mods of the week did NOT dissapoint!

Not with Skyrim. I spent at least 60 hours without barely touching the main quest. And I wasn't aimlessly running around like a crazy person either. Doing quests, exploring new areas, discovering dungeons, and so forth. It's not your typical linear, one-time, one-trip affair.

It's not "too time-consuming" if you like the game alot, and it literally requires one click.

Installing mods is something I like doing. It's fun to search the nexus and steam workshop for ways I can enhance my game. Only thing that sucks is when you have too many mods installed and you get conflicts and you have to do a fresh install. That sucks and is time consuming.

you really are a sad troll these days. Yes its worth it.

With mods there is a completly different game(not that it changes the ending)...

There are a handful of quest mods that adds extra content to the game...so you gain dozens of hours of gameplay that you didnt experienced in ur first playtrough...

Then ofc there are the texture overhaul mods and the enb series...which is like playing a HD remake of an old game...this alone should worth another playtrough...

Then there are the armor and weapon mods...which adds new items ingame...never before seen...

Then there is the combat and spell mods...which tweak and adds more spell to the game...so ur second playtrough can be different from the first one...

Then there are the "player house" mods...which can let you put on display every single armor/weapon/book you have collected on ur playtrough...

And lots of other mods that influence the gameplay...like...more than one follower...more than one conjuration...horses for the followers...new types of rides, not just horses...explosive arrows...some mods change the way the npc's act...etc...etc...alot of gameplay changing mods...

Iam on my 9th playtrough(never completed the game, before) and iam having a blast with my 156 mods currently installed :D(and none of them conflict with each other...it took me 32h of non-stop testing to make sure of that...and it was totally worth it)

Clicking one button is a lot of work to install a mod? Wow.
