The 9800 GT can only be used in a dual-GPU configuration. If you want to use 3 video cards then the next one up from that would be the 9800 GTX+.

Would it be worth it to just get a new card or get 2 9800 gt's for a bit?

I say it would be best to get a new card and use that 9800GT for Physx.

Physx is Nvidia's proprietary physics engine. It basically turns you GPU into a physics rendering engine instead of processing the graphics.

Add a little more to your budget and get a GTX275 or a GTX260, both should be on par or better than the 2x 9800GT. You need to keep your PSU in mind when getting a new card as well, don't want to hook up a second card only to be under powered.

Well the GTX line is less money now. I would grab that before I would do a dual 9800GT setup. Use that 9800GT for PhysX

Why waste a 9800GT for Physx? 9800GT SLI is basicly 9800GX2, which = GTX 280. That's enough performance as is, and would plow through Physx games.

It depends on how much you want to spend, SLI'ed 9800GT's are about equal to a GTX 260. And really I wouldnt waste money on a GTX 2** series when the 300 series are right around the corner plus sli'ing will give a nice boost for $90-$100.

You could get 2 or 3 of these

http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/searchtools/item-Details.asp?EdpNo=4843000&sku=G458-0252

the gts 250 is the same as the 9800 gtx+ ( butdifferent bios so you can sli with 9800), and it is only 70 bucks after mail in rebate.

Its better then going out and spending another $200+ on gpu when you can spend another $100 and get near the $200 gpu performance.
