Slow update with Steam

I received Lost Planet as a gift with my 8800gts.

Installed - ok

Steam started the update, but It's going so slow, around 15 KB/s.

I checked my network, ran some tests, ran a Test for Steam's ports, everything was OK. Whats going on?

It could be a setting on steam. Make sure you have your internet connection speed on in the settings correct.

It could be that you don't have your connection setup right in Steam. Or Steam is using up a lot of bandwith at the moment. I've had updates and installs go from 375kbs to 15 in a small time frame with no drop in connection speed at all. It just happens sometimes.
