If you want this game for the single-player campaign, DON'T get it. It simply doesn't have one, the story is absolutely non-existent, the game is as generic as it can be. Generic enemies, generic scenario, this was CLEARLY directed to coop play. The quests are like "get this and bring it here", "kill a thousand bandits, kill their bosses". If you, like me, are a single-player gamer, forget about this title. One word: BORING!
On the other hand, my guess is that it is guaranteed fun for you if you like to play coop. I don't.
The developers, however, should have clearly stated that the single-player is just a generic casual one, because they say it's fun. IT'S NOT. And I gave it a chance from the bottom of my heart: I really wanted it to be not only good, but amazing. A few hours playing, it is simply unbearable. It is so boring that 1 minute seemed like an hour (and when a game rocks it is the opposite).
For those who cited Fallout 3: one game has absolutely nothing to do with the other, except for the wasteland theme.
Coop players will like Borderlands better, of course (since Fallout 3 is SP only). Single-player gamers like me will think Borderlands is just a bad (bad, bad, bad!) joke compared to FO3. It doesn't even come close.
I should have trusted my intuition and the GS reviews for the consoles (they say pretty much say that there's no story). But for some time now GS has been doing some awful reviews, I couldn't take its word on it. Too bad!
