So how many of you still use an 8-series Nvidia card?

I loved my 8800 GTX 768MB. I would still be using it if it hadn't died on me. There were only a few games I couldn't max with it. But I enjoy my GTX 260 even more. I just wish they would quit making the cards bigger and bigger. My case can't handle a card if they get any bigger than the 260. If you are still using an 8-series there is no need to upgrade unless you are just one of those that has to have more power. :P

Try 7-series. :| 7600GS for the win (yes, that's AGP).

Wow, i heard that thing can max Battlefield 1942 at 1280x1024 :O

Actually I have better luck playing Crysis, than BF1942 (though it runs BF2 just fine). Makes no sense to me at all.

Note: that's at 1024x768, on my old monitor. I got a new 22" and I can't play anything at 1680x1050, lol, besides San Andreas and HL2.

I still have my 8800GT, still running strong! Except for GTA IV. I'm able to play, Bioshock, Team Fortress 2, Half-Life 2, Left4Dead, etc, with no issues. I was even able to play Crysis and got a respectable fps, with a respectable look to the game. :Dremmbermytitans
I can play GTAIV with medium settings fine @ 1440x900...still looks as good as the consoles so iam happy!

I've still got two 8800GTs going in my PC, and I don't really have any immediate plans to upgrade them. I can run all the games I own on high, and I can't see any games in the immediate future where my video card will become a significant bottleneck.

[QUOTE="X360PS3AMD05"]Nothing wrong with an 8 series card, it sure lasted a long time if you bought an 8800GTX at launch ;) No real pressure from ATI so Nvidia was just kicking back letting the cash roll in. JSDempsey

Definitely. If you bought an 8800GTX when it came out, then you made a great purchase.

Legendary card now. Still out does alot of newer stuff in certain situations with its larger bus and memory - 9800gtx and even the 4850. If you bought it at launch you got one the deals of the decade - i wish i did.

Only thing is, they don't benchmark it in new game tests here anymore >.

I'm still pleased with my 640mb 8800GTS. It's one of the better computer related purchases I've made. I bought it in January 2007 for $330, and I don't think I've ever had a video card hold up so well over time. I can max out, or come pretty close to maxing out every game at 1680x1050, except Crysis.

It will probably be at least another year before I seriously consider getting a new video card. As the TC stated, the 9 and 200 series just aren't enough of an improvement over the 8 series to make them worthwhile for me.

Same card, same resolution and same conclusion. I agree 100%, although I may upgrade in 6 months, depending on what is available.
