Ah! I was waiting for someone to buy this game! How is it? Is it worth your time so far? Shorta reminds of Super Metriod....for some strange reason....
In the past few days I've bought these through Steam:
Jade Empire SE
Advent Rising
Already had the following on disk, but I bought them again through Steam because my understanding is that the Steam versions have no SecuROM:
Project Snowblind
Prey
Rogue Trooper
They were going cheap anyway.
Still debating whether or not to repurchase Warhammer 40K: DOW series and Company of Heroes Gold because I've read about a lot of issues with the Steam versions of those on the Steam forums, eg, not being able to register CD keys properly.
I was also eyeing up Psychonauts - is that any good?
Does Bioshock through Steam still have SecuROM or limited activations? If not I might repurchase that as well.
Lastly, I'm still waiting for EA to pull its finger out of its arse and allow the Steam version of Mass Effect to be bought by residents of the UK. Still not available here, which I find a bit ridiculous. But then there are Atari and UbiSoft titles that are no longer available either. Region-locking games is the stupidest idea for an online digital distribution service.

I just heard people saying in another thread that some games, when bought through steam, still have drm like securom attached to them.

I've played Psychonauts on PS2 and it's a brilliant and unique game. Certainly some of the most creative level designs I've ever seen. It's from the mind of Tim Schafer (Day of the Tentacle, Monkey Island, Grim Fandango, etc) so it's odd but good. No idea about controlling it with a keyboard and mouse, though.

I also purchased Psychonauts from STEAM for the PC....and had no problems playing it well using the K / M.....and your right, it is a truly an amazing game. Shame it wasn't promoted better when it was released, it would have sold a ton more copies.
