So i have found a pre built system for £900, but people keep telling me its cheaper to build one my self. Here is the spec for the pre built pc:

CPU: Intel® Core 2 Quad Q6600
CPU Cooler: Coolermaster Eclipse
Motherboard: Asus P5N-D SLI
Memory: 4.0GB Corsair DDR2 800mhz XMS2 (2x 2GB)
Hard Drives: 500GB S-ATA2 3.0Gb/s
Optical Drive: 20x DVD±RW DL S-ATA Lightscribe
Graphics card: NVidia GeForce 8800GTS 512MB
Sound card: Onboard 7.1 Audio
Operating System: Microsoft® Windows Vista Ultimate 64-bit
TV card: PCI Digital TV Tuner Card
PSU: 750W Thermaltake Toughpower
Case: Thermaltake Armor

Can you spec me a machine as close as you can, but get it under £900.

The only things i want is:

Q6600
4GB RAM (800mhz at least)
500GB Hard Drive (at least or 2 smaller ones or which ever you think is best, but basically at least 500GB)
8800GTS 512Mb (G92)
Vista Ultimate 64-bit
TV Card
Thermaltake armour (i think, its either this or a NZXT Lexa Blackline)

Thanks, remember under £900

Quid = pounds

thats a good system and seems to be a good price, I'd buy it and save the hassle of building.

Seems a bit too much for a system like that to me but pre-built explains it.

I did a quick price comparison on Ebuyer and by ordering the parts from there and building the PC yourself, you would save 200 pounds. Trust me, as long as you can hold a screwdriver, you can build a PC.

I just build the same system on ebuyer and it ended up costing around 835 pounds. I don't see where you can save 135 pounds more? Are you sure you didn't forget any parts?

Seems allright to me, although I don't know how good that Arctic Power PSU is. I'd recommend to get this: Corsair HX Series 520W Modular PSU. Good quality PSU, very quiet and stable. It's also modular which means that you can take the cables off and only connect those that you really need. Makes building it easier and helps improving the air flow.

I don't know much about TV cards, but I do think that Hauppauge is a respected brand for it. This will probably be ok for you: http://www.ebuyer.com/product/48062
